We tired to head to the beach in time for the sweet evening light but we were a bit too late. We will try again though. Alexi loved the sand and water, of course.
For the photogs out there I am finding it a bit hard to get the sunset colors AND get the people properly exposed as well. I did these in Manual and focused on the people but that seemed to wash out the colors a bit in the sky. Any suggestions?

I couldn't resist - here's one more farm photo.

Exploring in the flower garden!

I finally got around to making the "Wedding Photos" link on the right-hand side work! Clicking on it will take you to the album and then you can see a small sampling of wedding photos that I've taken.
I'll work on "Alexi's first year" link next.
Theodore's favorite sleeping position is on his mama's shoulders - doesn't he look all snug?

I'm trying my hand at storyboards - as I just love them when I see them.
I'll attempt more comlicated ones soon. Have a great weekend everyone!

More gorgeous scenery! What great luck to find these bales of hay right next to the road!

Alexi also loved meeting his newest cousin, Sampson and he liked Alexi too. Both are roughly the same age - maybe that has something to do with it?

We just loved being out in the country - it was very peaceful and rural. Not to mention picturesque!

Alexi had a wonderful time with his cousins, John and Henry, on Father's Day. More rural, farm pictures will follow.

Happy Father's Day to all!

Everything was nice in the beginning - we dressed the boys in denim and no shirts or shoes.

Theodore's big eyes are so captivating.

In this position, even his own mama commented that he resembled Boss Hog.(remember Dukes of Hazzard?)
And this is when it all ended, right before it even began. Alexi was crying for no reason and it set off Theodore of course.

Alexi, at 17 months, acquired his first boo-boo that actually required a band-aid. We were caught off guard and had no "kiddie band-aids".

Of course Snoopy and blankie made everything much better!

2006/06/13

The weather's become quite cool here so walking in the park in the evening does require a jacket.
I love this shot with daddy.

Theodore is 10 weeks now and 13 pounds. Here he's snuggling with daddy.

Alexi has been "helping" watering the plants, indoors and outdoors, with his pappou (grandpa in Greek) for a long time so he was definately excited to do it in the backyard. Maybe next time we will turn on the water!

My cutie-pie is playing behind the front door, opening and closing it. This photo was taken in manual with Amber Ludlow's conversions applied. I love her conversions.
This photo is also manual - it's completely overexposed, except for his eyes (which is why I love it) because I hurried and snapped the photo before adjusting for exposure first. I'm finding Manual a bit of a pain because Alexi moves so fast and I am spinning the main dial like mad trying to get the correct exposure before I lose the moment. I may go back to AV mode. Any suggestions out there?

Guess who got a new wagon?
Guess who loves pulling his wagon more than he does riding in it? Yup, Alexi. That's why he's crying in the first shot - he didn't want to get back in to go home. (I can't get my photos to come up in the order that I want - is this blogger or is there something I don't know?)

2006/06/05

The tone of this photo was created by mistake and I thought I'd share. This is Alexi looking through the glass of our dirty screen door (it has since been cleaned.) I converted it to black and white and saw that the copyright didn't really show up. So I went to the type layer and clicked the paintbucket to change the color to black - but much to my surprise the entire photo(except for the copyright) was flooded with black but at 45% opacity. It looked pretty cool and intense and I lowered the opacity a bit more and left it at that. Here is the original, which I still like - maybe if I get them printed out then I can decide which is better. Any opinions out there?
Today's post is definately for the Photoshop lovers out there.

This photo captures Alexi perfectly with his sneaky-mischievious smile. He knows he's doing something he shouldn't but he's delighted with himself. I love the way the water looks so smooth over his hand.

Alexi loves bath-time and running aorund after his bath,
pretending to brush his hair.

and being held by daddy.
