This adult bear was sleeping quite close to the fence.
Alexi enjoyed getting close to the moose.

These cute little cubs are orphans. They played together as if they were puppies.

This was the scenery on the drive back to Anchorage from Soldotna. The light was spectacular as it was right before sunset. I especially love the reflection in the lake in the bottom photo.

So as we come around the bend of Turnagain Arm my hubby says "Look behind you" and that's the top photo. Then for the rest of the ride home we saw the most beautiful sunset ever over Cook Inlet. In the middle photo you can see the reflection in the water and sand as it was low tide at that point.

We went to the city of Soldotna where we visited with friends who have a restaurant. The salmon is delivered straight out of the river in this huge case of ice. It looks ugly, and surprisingly enough the tongue has holes in it off to the sides, but it tasted SO GOOD!

Check out the flowers - this is how they grow with all that sunlight.

See the seagulls flying around in the above photograph with St. Augustine (a snow-covered active volcano?) in the background?

The bald eagle on the log is actually EATING a seagull. I was scared to go closer AND Alexi started crying because he wanted to be with me and that in turn made Theodore cry.

Here is a super-duper close up of the bald eagle in the zoo in Anchorage Alaska.

Theodore sleeping in the infamous VAN in Alaska.
Alexi sleeping in the VAN in Alaska.

Visiting the Animal Refuge Center by Portage Glacier in Alaska.

I've been missing in action for a while now because of a family trip to Alaska to visit relatives and friends. A big van was rented to fit all 6 of us plus some. We loved the van and we hated the van. It was best of course when the kids were sleeping. Lots of beautiful sights were seen, including 3 bald eagles and mountain goats in the wild. Many photos were taken and I will slowly go through them and post.
The trip was awesome, in no small part, due to our wonderful hosts!
See the following two scenic photos.

As you can see Alaska was definitely worth the trip!

I really like the point of view of the long panoramic on the right and how the brick is out of focus on the right but Alexi's in focus.

Golden Sunset!

These photos were taken at the same art sculpture as about a week ago but DURING sunset not after. I can't believe the difference. I love the golden colors on Alexi's skin.

Check it out!

Click on the link (to the right) that says "Alexi's First Year ". It's a small collection of photographs of him as a baby.
It finally works! Yeah!

Alexi had a ton of fun with his Sido this weekend - this is so evident in these photos.

I finally got a chance to snap some quick photos at the pool, where Alexi loves to be.

Theodore is having a great time being entertained by his dad.

Theodore is definitely a happy baby!
This is the best session they have had together to date!! P.S. I've been working on a logo - it's on both these photos - any comments?

Alexi loves "taaahs" (trucks) so the visit to the firestation was a big hit!!!!!!!!!

My hubby asks me yesterday "Why isn't the masterpiece up on the blog?" And I'm confused, I say "What masterpiece? I posted the one with the sculpture."
But he meant the one with the sculpture in which Alexi is kissing HIM!
So far be it for me to dissapoint - here it is in all its "masterpiece glory".

Even an art sculpture in a park can be used as a photo prop. Alexi especially loved this one!

Picking up the teeniest pebble is just so fascinating when you are 18 months old!!

Sunset in tall grass

Can't beat running through grass that's taller than you!

Motherly Love

I love the look of adoration in momma's eyes - and the handholding I think is too cute!

2006/07/06

It was time for another Theodore photoshoot as he is now 3 months old and 15 pounds. He is showing off his chubbiness in all his glory and his drooling capabilities.

Happiness

I know that this photo is not technically correct (Alexi is a little blurry, etc) but it captures that HAPPY feeling that kids get when on an awesome piggyback ride and it makes me smile!
